From its origins in 1997 as a small singing group at Minda, the choir has grown into a vibrant independent multi arts organisation, deeply connected into the disability and mainstream arts worlds of South Australia and beyond. With its strong commitment to access and inclusion, Tutti is both a grass roots nurturer of disabled artists and a creator and presenter of high quality work which brings disabled artists, and community and professional artists together for performances and exhibitions.” - Queensland Ballet

"International Year of the Disabled Person (IYDP)" In 1976, the General Assembly proclaimed 1981 would be the Year of the Disabled Person. The 1981 International Year of the Disabled Person inspired an increase in awareness and disability arts. While UN theme was “full participation and equality” the theme in Australia was “Break down the Barriers”, raising the prole and issues of people with disabilities. The international year of the disabled persons was a catalyst for connecting Australian disability activists to each other and the international disability rights movement (Royal Commission, 2021, p. 6). Australia saw an increase in disability-themed theatre from 1981 to 1984; however, these performances were largely staged with non-disabled casts. Records of these productions can be found on the AusStage database.

"Accessible Arts - ACE Arts Creativity Expression Accessible Arts - ACE Arts Creativity Expression - Antony Jones - Review: Words About House Gang - Iss15, Pg7" Accessible Arts - ACE Arts Creativity Expression - Antony Jones - Review: Words About House Gang- Iss15, Pg7 - reads, in part, "In every sense of the word House Gang is a sitcom in the American traditon. melodrama and simplecharacterisation, but without the blowwave hair. This is not a criticism, it could simply be no other way for 30 minutes of light, comedy television. The only difference being that in House Gang, three of the characters are played by people with intellectual disabilities: Trev is the struggling athlete; Belinda is self-obsessed, love-struck and out of love; and Robert is the soft, sensitive type." -

“Access Arts commissions a multi-arts project, Peter Vance performs the song ‘Welcome to My Day’ at the 1999 Wataboshi Festival in Japan” Peter Vance was asked by Access Arts to team up with Ant McKenna to compose a song. He then performed ‘Welcome to My Day’ at the 5th Asia Pacific Wataboshi Music Festival in Japan in 1999. Access Arts sent disposable cameras out to members across Queensland; each story became a collage in the State Library foyer as a day-in-the-life of each artist.
