  Arts Project Australia - Annual Report 1991 - includes Aims and Objectives, President's Report, Program Director's Report, 1991 Exhibition Report, Scenes from the Studio Workshop, Financial Reports, Acknowledgements and Thanks - reads, in part "Arts Project Australia began in 1974 as an arts based advocacy group for people with intellectual disabilities. A major reason for the formation of "the Art Project" (as it was then known) was the insight on the part of its members that many people who have an intellectual disability displayed aptitude and talent in the visual arts, and that the flexible conventions of these arts forms could provide access to a variety of means of expression and communication, even when more common forms, particularly linguistic, were difficult for them to utilise."

This study finds that "greater physical access, more affordable arts, more relevant information about the arts and greater social acceptance need to be developed to enable people with disabilities to develop their artistic potential," and makes the case for funding Arts in Action to employ a Community Arts Officer to support people with disabilities to achieve their full artistic potential.
• “Arts Access Australia CEO encourages other non-disabled CEOs of disability organisations to step down”
  In 2012, Kate Larsen stepped down from role as CEO of Arts Access Australia. In a Ramp Up article, she explained “Now, I love my job. I'm good at it. I think that I've been useful here. But on the same day I accepted the position last February I also did something else. I gave notice of my resignation, and undertook to hand over the organisation by the end of 2012. The reason? Because I believe that Arts Access Australia should be led by a person with disability.” Upon her resignation, she encouraged other non-disabled CEOs of disability organisations to step aside to make space for disabled people to take up these leadership roles.

• “Assistance to Composers Advisory Board created by the Commonwealth government.”
  In 1967, the Commonwealth government created the Assistance to Composers Advisory Board with an aim to advise on funding needs for music composition and promotion of Australian composers. The Board was to judge work based on “musical distinction or excellence of its kind, and on the promotion of Australian composers both in Australia and abroad”. The Board’s functions were later absorbed by the Australia Council.
